Erase wrinkles without surgery

January 27, 2011 by LadyCat 3 Comments

If you’re wary of plastic surgery, there are many non-surgical face lifts that can erase the signs of aging. They are relatively painless, and the recovery time is much faster: one or two weeks, which is more than half of what it would take if you had plastic surgery.
Here are some of the non-surgical face lifts that can subtly correct the signs of aging without any sutures, cutting or scarring.

Aptos Thread

Aptos thread was invented by a Russian doctor, Dr. Sulamanidze. It is sometimes called Feather Lift. Basically, the skin of your cheels, jowls, neck and eyebrows is lifted with high-resistance threads, and anchored to your facial issue. The entire treatment can be done under an hour, and you can see the results after two weeks. You may need a follow up treatment after a few years.

Obagi Method

The Obagi Method is based on the principle that the skin is able to heal and regenerate itself. So, the treatment renews the inner cells, strengthening them from the cellular level with high-impact creams. Unlike the moisturizers you buy over-the-counter, the Obagi products treats the cells that are far deeper than the skin surface.

The Obagi method does not use injections, so it’s ideal for those who have low pain tolerance. However, it must be done regularly—every six weeks at least—for effects to really show and be maintained.

Botox

Botox is sometimes called cosmetic denervation. It erases worry lines, crow’s feet and wrinkles by using injections that weaken the muscles that cause the creases. The procedure is very short—it takes less than 10 minutes—and the results last for up to four months.

Botox must be done by a skilled doctor for the results to look natural. The doctor must know which muscles to inject, and the right dosage to use.

Perlane and Restylane

Perlane is used to correct wrinkles around the eye and lip. Perlane is used for the cheeks and skin, and for creating facial contours.

Basically, these are injectibles that aim to plump up areas of the face that have begun to sag, and firm up the wrinkled skin. Both contain hyaluronic acid, a completely natural compound that can be found in living organisms, including your skin. So, the Perlane and Restylane combine with your own body’s stores of hyaluronic acid to restore your youthful looks. Both injections must be repeated after 6 to 12 months.

Hydrogel

Hydrogel is made up of nearly 98% water and 2% polyacrylamide gel. It can also lift areas that have begun to sag, such as the lips, cheeks, temple or even the buttocks!

Autofat

Another injection, but this time, it takes fat from your abdomen or thigh, which is cleaned and processed before it is reinjected into your face. Another treatment, called Stem Cell Auto Grafting, also firms up the face using fat and stem cells taken from another part of the body.

Aside from these non surgical treatments, you can beat wrinkles with daily facial exercises and including these important skin vitamins in your diet.
