Easy Last-Minute Gift Ideas

December 20, 2010 by Pamela 1 Comment

It’s just a few days till Christmas! Are you done with your holiday shopping? If you’ve got no time to head back to the malls, and no idea what to get for the remaining names on your list, here are some really great ideas for last-minute gift shopping.

These gifts are universally liked and remarkably easy to get Many oare available online and take just a few clicks to order and send. Plus, you don’t have to worry about shipping time!

Wine not?

The great thing about this holiday gift is that you can get it at your supermarket. Wine is a great hostess gift, and a ‘safe’ gift to give co-workers, neighbors, or friends. Include a personal note (‘Here’s a toast to your good health!’) and stick a ribbon on it, and you’re good to go. You don’t even have to wrap it or think about what size or color to get.

Wine is also a very affordable gift: you can get a very good one for $15. You can also buy in bulk and keep on hand in case you accidentally forget someone on your list. Besides, you get to drink whatever you don’t give away!

A gift certificate to a movie

Everyone enjoys a night out, and a movie pass is your way of treating them to possibly the best gift of all: a chance to escape the holiday stress! It’s best to give two tickets so he or she can bring a date. This is excellent for neighbors, friends (especially new parents, who probably haven’t had a movie date since their baby was born!) or the person on your list who ‘already has everything.’

Another option to this is to sign your friend up for Netflix, so he or she can watch movies at home.

A chance at a million dollars

This is a cheap but a fun gift! Buy a dear friend or co-worker a lottery ticket! Who knows, he or she may wake up a millionaire! They’re very cheap but always welcome—especially if you add a personal message, like ‘I wish you all the blessings you deserve, starting with $1,000,000!’) or ‘You’re a million-dollar friend!’

Give a magazine subscription

You can order a magazine subscription from the website of the actual publication or sites like Amazon. Since many magazines offer amazing subscription promos you may spend as little as $6.00 for a gift your friend will enjoy the whole year. Pick a title that matches his or her interests. For example, a scrapbooker may like a subscription to Creating Keepsakes, or your gym buddy may enjoy a copy of Prevention.

An e-book

If your friend has a Kindle or some kind of e-reader then give the gift of a good read! The best part of this gift is that you can send it electronically—you don’t have to worry about shipping the book.
