Sniff sniff … so you’ve caught a virus and are now sniffling and coughing all day and all night. Having a cold is a pain and, if it just virus-induced, you can’t do anything but wait for it to run its course. How long would that take?
Most uncomplicated colds usually last between eight and nine days, however about 25 percent can last up to two weeks, and to some extent, can last up to three weeks. Even the most stubborn of cold viruses should settle down in a few weeks’ time. If you’re still sniffling and wheezing after month, go see a doctor. Your cough and cold may be due to an allergy or may have developed into an infection.
If you’ve developed a cold, rest and lots of liquid would be your first point of call, but it would still be best to visit a doctor – especially if you have specific allergies, feel any form of discomfort, and/orĀ are pregnant.
