Thinking of making a Youtube video? It’s easier than you think. With this simple guide, you will be well on your way to personal movie’s internet premiere. Share your cutest family videos. Make a video tutorial on a topic that’s close to your heart. Upload footage from your company’s event. Create a viral video to increase traffic to your website or drum interest in your product or service. Yes, that’s all possible—in just a few simple steps.
Make the video
Today’s technology lets you record images though your cell phone or a personal video camera. But you can’t upload everything, bloopers and all. You’ll want to edit your video, saving the best parts or even putting together footage from different events. To do this, you can use Windows Movie Maker (usually installed in most computers). The cool thing about this is that you just have to drag and drop footage. Even extras, like adding a soundtrack ,is very easy. Just be aware of copyright issues: Youtube can remove audio footage that’s illegally used. And, as a courtesy, always credit the artist and the label of every song you use.
Upload the video
You know the drill: just register yourself as a new Youtube user. Then log in, and proceed to ‘Account Settings.’ Check the upper right part of the screen to find the ‘Upload’ link. Select ‘Upload Video’ and then browse through your computer hard drive to find the file you want to share to the world.
Wait and see
Now sit back and wait until the video is uploaded. This can take anywhere from ten minutes to half an hour, followed by more minutes of processsing time. Now is a good time to make a good cup of coffee, or even break open a bottle of wine in celebration of your ‘Video Premiere.’ You will get an alert when your video is officially up on Youtube.
Add a description
The next step is to make it easy for people to find your video. Give your video a title. Keep it straightforward, using keywords that are relevant to your topic, so people can find it.
Choose settings
Do you want people to be able to comment freely, or do you want control over which comments will be posted or not? Do you want to allow users to share the videos by inserting it in a web page or blog?
