Are you sick of your bangs? There’s nothing to do but grow them out, but what do you do in the meantime? Here are some ways to style your hair while you wait for your hair to reach the desirable length. You can still look amazing (and wear a completely stylish and up-to-date ‘do) even when your hair is in that weird, in-between phase.
Get a pretty hair band
Head straight to the mall and stock up on those beautiful hair bands. You can get a stretchy one right at your hairline (great when your bangs are still really short). The cool thing is that hair bands come in as many colors and styles as the rest of your clothes. Get a sophisticated one encrusted with crystals or lace, or a sporty one to wear during your workout.
However, when you wear a hair band, you want the rest of your hair to have body. Add volumizing products and blowdry. You can also use mousse, which won’t weigh your hair down as much as hair gel. (Read our tips on how to add volume to fine, limp hair).
Spray it!
Keep your bangs out o your face by teasing them (for extra body) and then spray them into place. Or, you can pin them in place with adorable bobby pins. Tousle up the rest of your hair for a wonderful, carefree, and easy-to-maintain look. Think Drew Barrymore and next-door American girl! Or, pick an extra-dainty set of bobby pins (maybe one decorated with faux gemstones or pearls) and pair with a dress. This makes a great date outfit.
Try a different part
When your bangs reach mid-length you can try different hairstyles. Part them in the middle, and either spray or pin them in place. Or use mousse and blow dry it for extra body and bounce, then add hair gel or hair wax so that it keeps its shape throughout the day. This is very elegant and ideal for work, if your office environment is not the type where you can get away with wearing cutesy little girl clips.
You can also slick your hair back, for a clean and sophisticated hair ‘do. The look is quite mannish, though, so balance this with natural looking makeup so you don’t end up looking severe. Make sure your eyebrows are well groomed, too! You may also want to wear earrings, which can help balance your facial shape and add a feminine touch.
