Make this simple and powerful change this year: instead of worrying about what you don’t have, take that energy and focus on attracting what you want. You use the same amount of time and energy. You tap the same imagination. And yet you generate very different results.
Many people swear by the power of positive thinking, citing everything from ‘raising vibrations’ to ‘tapping the power of the Universe.’ While we may not always understand why it works, we know that worrying doesn’t. So try this simple meditation for attracting money for one year. Create that mental environment where great things can happen.
Settle down
Find a place where you can sit and meditate without being interrupted. It can be a corner of your house (a locked bathroom works great!) or even your office (just turn down the blinds and listen to calming music or watch a mandala to block off the noise).
Then, close your eyes and put your hands on your stomach. Inhale deeply for 6 counts, feeling your breath fill your abdomen. Then, hold the breath for 4 counts. Exhale over 6 counts.
Do this for 5 to 10 counts, paying attention to each breath and the
way it fills your body. The mind can’t focus on two things at the same time, so as it tunes in to your breathing, it tunes out worries and negative thoughts. (For more tips, you can read this article on how to do a sitting meditation.)
Let your thoughts flow
As you settle down, certain concerns and thoughts will come, but you can now see them as an objective observer. Don’t rebel against or judge what you feel or think. Simply acknowledge them and let them pass. If you seem to be clinging to one thought (like worrying about bills or a deadline) picture a door and imagine showing it out. Eventually you will have ‘escorted’ all these concerns out of your mind, clearing it completely.
Visualize peace and abundance
Now, imagine a beautiful, green meadow. The grass is soft and everywhere you turn, you see flowers and a deep, gorgeous sky. Walk around this meadow. The grass feels soft and cool against your feet. You feel a breeze on your face. It is ruffling your hair and caressing your face. You breathe in. You spread open your arms.
You feel safe and happy. Everything around you is nurturing and protecting you. You feel the energy from the grass, the sky, the flowers flowing into you—washing away the stress, and replacing it with vitality and joy.
You explore, and come across a small waterfall. There is a path underneath it. You take it. As you walk under the waterfall, you feel the purifying and cleansing energy, dissolving all old beliefs, fears, resentments and feelings of lack.
Then, you step out on the other side of the waterfall. And you see, crystal clear, exactly what you have been dreaming about. Be as concrete as possible. (For example, if you wish to get married, imagine the perfect guy waiting on the other side, smiling at you and hands outstretched. Or, if you want a bigger house, imagine it there, door wide open—and you walk in.)
Say affirmations
End the meditation by repeating affirmations.
‘I let go of all ideas of lack.
I deserve abundance and I open myself to receiving it.
I choose and accept prosperity in my life right now.
I am prosperous in good health, love, and wealth.
I receive it everyday.’
Say thank you
Close the meditation by thanking God/The Universe/Spirit of Abundance for filling you with everything you need, in the perfect time and perfect way. Trust that your dream is coming true already, and your meditation has simply prepared you to receive what is already yours.
