The next title is X-Men Origins Wolverine for the PS3, PC, and XBOX 360. This is probably the best example of what a superhero video game done right. The makers of this game understood that Wolverine is an uncontrollable animal. They also understood that destroying everything in the path of Wolverine would be fun.
Marvel vs Capcom is such a great superhero video game that it has appeared on just about every system available. One of the best features of this game is that it had more than 50 characters you could choose to fight with. The game was balanced and ran smoothly which was especially difficult to do considering the many different fighting styles of the many different characters available on the game.
Spider-Man for the PS and DC systems earned its popularity by just being fun to play. The game had great graphics which made swinging around town as spider-man shear joy.
The most highly rated superhero video game is one of the most highly rated games of all time in any genre. The best-of-the-best rating goes to Batman Arkham City. This game is available for the PC, PS3, and XBOX 360. The game play is second to none.
The 5 Worst Superhero Video Games
Since these have been rated the very worst of the superhero video games we will not spend too much time with detailing how awful these titles actually were. Just know that these games were bad.
X-Men 2 Fall of the Mutants. Unplayable DOS based game without no music, awful storyline, and totally incomprehensible turn-based battle.
Batman Beyond Return of the Joker. Visually speaking this was a great game, the rest of the game was nothing short of terrible. The came centered on combat sequences and the combat was the worst part of the game.
Aquaman Battle for Atlantis. This game was so awful it is hard to decide where to start describing the bad parts of the game.
Superman 64 and Catwoman battle it out for the worst of all superhero video games. Depending on whom you talk to it is a toss up which of these games is the worst of all. Most will say catwoman was slightly worse because it was inspired by a terrible superhero movie.
