In most Western countries, polygamy is considered illegal and a crime. There are some religions, however, that allow this practice to continue even till today.
Church of the Latter Day Saints (or Mormons) – not all members of the church agree to polygamy. Indeed, only those who categorize themselves as fundamentalists continue to support and practice polygamy.
Islam – this religion allows polygamy, but imposes a limit of only up to four wives at the same time.
Judaism – polygamy was allowed in the past, but most types of Judaism ban the practice today. There are still a few types wherein it is considered acceptable.
