There are so many kinds of TVs available in the market today, and it is no wonder that the average consumer can get confused. If you’re torn between getting and LED TV or an LCD TV, the answer is simple: if you have enough money, get the LED TV.
The truth is that both kinds of TVs use LCD for the screen – liquid crystal display technology. On its own, an LCD screen does not emit light, hence the need for backlight so that we can see the images. The regular LCD TV uses Cold-Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (CCFL) while LED TVs use light emitting diodes (LED). The latter gives better quality pictures and uses less energy as well.
