Are you a coach potato? Then these exercises are for you. You can watch your favorite shows and have a healthy workout too. These exercises are so short and easy that you can do it during the commercial break.
It seems too good to be true, but it’s very do-able. A show can have as many as 20 minutes of commercials in a one hour show, you’ll be able to meet your minimum exercise quota. And it sure beats going to the refrigerator for a snack, or flipping through channels from utter boredom.
March, march, march
Warm up by marching to the kitchen for a glass of water, and then marching in place until your show starts.
Tone your chest and arms
At the next break, face the wall with feet shoulder width apart and arms straight in front of you. Put your hands on the wall. Bend elbows and bring your chest to the wall, then straighten and repeat throughout the break.
Tone your upper body
Ready for another exercise? The minute the next commercial comes on, assume the position just described above, but place your hands close together. Then form a small triangle with our thumb and forefingers. Bend elbow and bring your chest to the wall, then strengthen and repeat through two commercials. For the rest of the ads, tone your back by playing Superman. Lie face down on the floor, arms overhead. Lift both arms for one commercial then release your arms and lift both legs through the next commercial.
Tighten your tush and thighs
Place one hand on a study chair for support, then step back with your left leg and bend both legs, dropping your knee toward the floor (make sure it doesn’t touch the ground). Raise and repeat in a pulsing motion. Switch legs with each commercial.
Another great way to tighten the butt area is to lie on your back with the knees bent, feet flat on the floor. Raise your hips an butt of the floor and squeeze for a count of 20. Release and repeat through the next break.
